The 8th Annual Scientific Meeting of the HKMSS was held as part of the 6th Hong Kong Neurological Congress on 9-10 Nov 2019. The meeting was co-organized with the Hong Kong Neurological Society, Hong Kong Epilepsy Society and the Hong Kong Movement Disorder Society.
Real-world experience with immune reconstitution therapy (IRT)
During the MS Lunch Symposium on 9 Nov, Prof. Tomas Kalincik from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, gave a talk on ‘Real-world experience with immune reconstitution therapy (IRT)’, focusing on the outcome of patients who have received the newer agents such as Cladribine and Alemtuzumab.
Making choices in the new era of MS treatment
In the MS Morning Symposium on 10 Nov 2019, we were honored to have Prof. Ludwig Kappos from the University of Basel, Switzerland, to enlighten us on ‘Making choices in the new era of MS treatment’, during which he reviewed the approach to select appropriate disease modifying agents among the many currently available to us.
PML detection and MS disease monitoring
Prof. Cristina Granziera, also from the University of Basel, then shared her expertise on neuroimaging, and talked about ‘PML detection and MS disease monitoring’ with MRI as well as other advance imaging technologies.
