On 29 Feb 2024, to coincide with Rare Disease Day, the HKMSS co-organized a scientific symposium with HKNS, HKNIS, and HKSNMD titled ‘The New Age of Complement Inhibition in Neurology – Revolutionising the Management of gMG and NMOSD’.
In the first part of the talk, Prof. Jin Nakahara from the Keio Univeristy of Japan gave us a comprehensive review on the mechanism behind complement activation, and shared his experience in treating NMOSD with Ravulizumab.
In the second part of the talk, Prof. Fracesco Sacca from the Univeristy of Naples Federico II of Italy spoke on Ravulizumab use in patients with generalized MG, and how its use can lessen the disease impact on patients’ ADL.
We would like to thank both speakers for the wonderful talk and all our participants for their meaningful questions during the Q&A sessions!
