MS and Pregnancy

English    |   中文

Multiple Sclerosis affects women more commonly than men, and women with MS are often diagnosed during their child-bearing age. It is important to realize that having MS does not mean you should not get pregnant. However, there are things to note when you plan to start a family, especially if you are taking disease modifying agents for MS.

Depending on the type of MS treatment you are on, you may be recommended to adopt contraceptive measures. Your doctor will also discuss with you about the risks and benefits of stopping treatment while you are pregnant. It is therefore important to inform your doctor if you plan to get pregnant or become pregnant while you are still taking treatment.
